Road Design
___________
Greenfield has a wealth of experience in the concept and detailed design of sealed and unsealed roads in rural and regional WA. Over the past 20 years we have been involved in various road design projects including new roads, upgrades of existing intersections, road realignments, car parks, pullover bays, passing lanes and roundabouts. We support our design work with in-house drafting capabilities using AutoCAD and 12d Civil Engineering Design Software. We specialise in working with our clients to ensure we meet their needs in a safe and cost effective manner.
Waterways Analysis
& Drainage Design
___________
Greenfield has significant expertise in the field of waterways analysis and its associated effect on road and drainage design and construction. Our services include a full range of waterways analysis from preliminary concept reviews through to detailed 1D and 2D hydraulic models simulating dynamic interactions of river and drainage catchments. We are then able to use this analysis in designing appropriately sized drainage structures including culverts, floodways, levees and table drains to suit the design conditions.
Level 1 Bridge Inspections
___________
Greenfield has been actively involved in undertaking routine Level 1 bridge inspections on an annual basis for many Local Governments in various regions of Western Australia. The inspections are carried out in a timely manner following the guidelines as set by MRWA. The visual inspection assesses the overall safety and performance of the structure, identifying any major accident damage or incidents and any obvious failure or deterioration of structural components. It also provides an opportunity to schedule routine maintenance requirements and check on the completion and effectiveness of previous routine maintenance. The inspection is accompanied by various photos of the structure citing any relevant details.
Rural Floodway Upgrades
___________
Greenfield boasts a rich background in rural floodway upgrades, providing detailed engineering design for new or to enhance existing floodway crossings. We work closely with clients to ensure safe and cost-effective solutions. Our expertise includes assessing potential upgrades, employing relevant software, and considering factors like water flow patterns and environmental impacts. We pride ourselves on in-house drafting capabilities, enabling seamless translation of designs into tangible plans. Greenfield has assisted various Local Governments with the floodway upgrades in Pilbara, Mid-West and Wheatbelt region.
Swept Path Analysis
___________
Greenfield has been actively involved in technical assessments of routes and performing swept path analysis for various design vehicles as per Australian Standards. The swept paths are provided for various turning movements or as advised by the Clients. These swept paths are also incorporated in most road designs involving intersections.
Desktop Assessments
___________
Preliminary Technical Assessments are critical when undertaking any road upgrade works and to assess the suitability of routes for RAV vehicles. Greenfield has strong experience in rural road assessment and has undertaken various preliminary technical assessments. These involve the assessment of the existing road and horizontal / vertical geometry assessment to identify the need for any proposed realignments to achieve suitable design speeds. The assessment can also include swept path analysis, proposed upgrades and budget cost estimates.
